The main objective of the Flower shows organized by Nagpur Garden Club was to enhance and increase the public interest in flowers. The Flower shows are being conducted every year since the last 43 years. The venues of the same however have been changing. For some period of years the flower show was held at the Institute of Engineers Hall and the Indian Medical Association Hall. Later, Mrs. Kundatai Vijaykar, a trustee of Bar. Sheshrao Wankhede Centenary Trust and an ardent supporter of the club took initiative to make arrangements by which the trust provides its hall to the club for conducting Monsoon Flower Show and Annual Flower Show every year. Now, for last more than 25 years these two flower shows are regularly held at the Kusumtai Wankhede Bhavan.
Initially, Nagpur Garden Club organized four flower shows every year. The Annual Flower show in January, Monsoon flower show in September, Chrysanthemum Flower show in the month of December and The Red Rose flower show on 14th November to mark the Birth Anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru .The club does not receive any kind of financial assistance from the Government for the flower show or for any other work of the club. Many people voluntarily offer assistance and other finances are gathered in the form of donations.
The members feel that the flower exhibitions help in inculcating the gardening hobby among citizens.
